What our Board Member have to say

Namaste and Welcome!

The International Gujarati Cultural Society – Atlanta (IGCSA) proudly hosted its curtain raiser program, marking the beginning of a vibrant cultural journey for the Gujarati community in the southeastern United States. The event was graced by the presence of renowned RJ and orator Dhwanit, who joined as the keynote speaker and added great value to the occasion.

A Vision Rooted in Culture, Connection, and Community

IGCSA is a non-profit organization established with a heartfelt mission: to promote Gujarati culture and literature while strengthening community bonds among the Indian diaspora—especially Gujaratis—residing in Atlanta and nearby states. For many living far from home, cultural events serve as a reminder of their roots, evoking a sense of belonging and nostalgia. IGCSA aims to become that bridge connecting the vibrant heritage of Gujarat to our community here.

Filling a Cultural Gap in the Southern United States

When artists from Gujarat travel to the United States, their performances typically center around major metropolitan cities along the East and West Coasts. This leaves a significant cultural gap in the southern region, where many enthusiasts of Gujarati music, literature, and performing arts eagerly seek such experiences. IGCSA has taken up the responsibility to fill this void by bringing authentic Gujarati programs closer to the community in Atlanta and the Southeast.

Our Four Core Missions

To achieve this vision, the organization is committed to four fundamental objectives:

  1. National Artist Promotion
  2. Act as a national promoter to bring talented artists from Gujarat and organize their programs across the USA and Canada.
  3. Global Stage for Rising Talent
  4. Provide an international platform where emerging artists can showcase their skills and creativity.
  5. Promoting Evolving Art Forms
  6. Increase awareness about the contemporary trends in Gujarati poetry, music, literature, and performing arts.
  7. Empowering Local Gujarati-Origin Artists
  8. Collaborate with artists of Gujarati origin living in North America and bring their talent to the forefront of the community.

A Diverse Range of Cultural Offerings

IGCSA aims to curate and present programs across multiple genres to ensure that the richness of Gujarati culture reaches people of all ages and backgrounds. These include:

  • Gujarati Sugam Sangeet – Programs designed to introduce younger generations to melodious classics and modern compositions.

  • Poetry Recitals (કવિ સંમેલન) – Celebrating the beauty and depth of Gujarati poetry.

  • Folk Music and Dayro (લોકગીતો અને ડાયરો) – Bringing traditional storytelling and folk tunes to the stage.

  • Experimental and Commercial Dramas – Showcasing meaningful and entertaining theatrical performances with unique narratives.

  • Theme-Based Cultural Shows – Highlighting various aspects of Gujarati heritage through creative presentations.

A Cultural Movement Begins

The launch of IGCSA marks the beginning of a new cultural chapter for Gujaratis in Atlanta. With the community’s encouragement and participation, the organization is confident in establishing a strong cultural footprint in the region.

The involvement of every community member—through support, presence, and enthusiasm—will help strengthen our shared connection to our language, traditions, and identity.

IGCSA invites everyone to join hands in this journey and together celebrate the spirit, art, and heritage of Gujarat.
